Furniture
The furniture is made from white, 19mm thick melamine panels with white PVC edgings. The drawers, with grey PVC edges, are mounted on 50kg load bearing runners and, as there are buffers at the end of these runners, these drawers can be pulled right out. The doors have grey PVC edges and are mounted on invisible 110° opening hinges.
The 28mm thick CTBH (French certification for damp-resistant particulate board) worktop is covered with a stainless steel top with splash back. The 700mm wide worktop stands 900mm from the floor. Length can be altered to suit the room dimensions.
Ventilation Unit
The ventilation system is housed in a special cabinet and filters the fumes and toxic gases produced during Cerrobend melting. The air is filtered by an activated carbon and particle filter. The filter can be removed and replaced cleanly.
The ventilation speed can be regulated with the adjustable control found in the ventilation unit cabinet (0 to 150m3/hour).
The hood cover, located above the alloy dispenser, is connected to the ventilation unit by a flexible duct. The location of the hood improves gas and fume capture.

Alloy Dispensers
These dispensers, with a capacity of 30kg or 60kg, are used for melting the low temperature alloy when producing the personalised shielding blocks used in radiotherapy. These alloy dispensers are mounted on rails and the hood cover placed just above them will move with the dispensers. This system means that several shielding blocks can be made at the same time and at any time during the day.

Cooling Plate
The cooling plate for the lead blocks is made from aluminium alloy and built into the work surface. The lead blocks are cooled with circulating cold water. The cooler plate is located in a special cabinet and has a freestanding overflow tank with a cover (for easy cleaning) and a pump for circulating the water.
The temperature application range is between +5°C and +20°C.
